Richard Durn was born as a band in July 2002. As it is often the case, it started as the story of 4 friends who wanted to take pleasure in playing together fast punk hardcore and find a common outlet for our painful economical, social environment, to individualism, authoritarianism and such oppressive inequalities!

the real guy called Richard Durn was a man who was destroyed by frustrations in life (he felt he was exploitated, had no real relationship and love,  and felt life was useless...). As he was a militant and as his life of militant was a source of frustrations too ( he worked for left-wing and socialist organisations and for people who were only there for their career),he decided to commit suicide but he didn't want to leave this cruel world alone...so he killed local politicians in the town council!

We chose this name not out of a passion for serial killers but more as a reminder of where frustration can lead to,  how we can arrive to this kind of situation, how it was an outlet for despair... That's exactly what music can be: an emotional outlet for the best or the worst.and we can't forget how punkrock saved our life!!!!

Richard Durn wouldn't exist without our friends in Nancy, Trieves, strasbourg, Metz, Lille, Paris, Leuven and Belgium...All these nice people we've met on the road
and with whom we shared these moments of sweet (or LOUD) madness... and of course we would never exist without this world of doom which has reinforced our anger and our desire
to dance on its future ruins or just to try to break a piece of this edifice!
